Life Cycle Performance in der Produktionstechnik *

Ansätze zur Steigerung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit

Zunehmend rücken große produzierende Unternehmen die Folgekosten der von ihnen beschafften Produktionsmittel in den Fokus ihrer Beschaffungsentscheidung. Diese Entwicklung stellt aber sowohl die Betreiber selbst als auch die Hersteller der Produktionsanlagen vor große Herausforderungen. Am wbk Institut für Produktionstechnik des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT) wurde daher ein Forschungsschwerpunkt „Life Cycle Performance“ (LCP) etabliert, welcher diese Entwicklung zur Betrachtung des gesamten Lebenszyklus von Investitionsgütern wissenschaftlich begleitet und sowohl die Betreiber als auch die Hersteller dabei unterstützt, Vorteile aus ihr zu ziehen.

Life cycle performance in manufacturing – Approaches to increase competitiveness

Large manufacturing companies are increasingly considering the life cycle costs of production systems during the purchasing process. This development poses great challenges for the operators themselves as well as for the manufacturers of the production systems. Therefore, a research focus group on Life Cycle Performance has been established at the Institute of Production Science (wbk) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). This group of researchers not only approaches the problem scientifically but also supports the operators and the manufacturers of production systems to gain advantages from this development.
